A beautiful session begins with a baby who feels comfortable and understood.

Experience is knowing when to photograph, when to wait and when to change the plan. We make room for feeds, cuddles and the pace your baby needs.

Past the first two weeks? Your baby is still welcome.

At four, six or eight weeks, your baby may be more alert and expressive. We adapt the session around their age, movement and comfort, creating photographs with eye contact, personality and family connection.

2010 The year Sweetlife began in Sydney

Experience built one baby at a time.

We began Sweetlife in Sydney and photographed babies and families there until 2024. Today that experience continues in Brisbane.

Across around fifteen years and thousands of sessions, we have learnt to notice the small things. A baby who needs a feed before settling. A position that does not feel right today. The few seconds when an awake baby looks directly towards a parent. Your session follows the baby in front of the camera, not a fixed pose list.

Parents and siblings are guided too, with simple direction and room for natural connection. You do not need to know how to pose or feel confident in front of the camera.

We care for every baby as if they were our own.

Meet Mark and Yura

The photographs matter. So does how the session feels.

"You can tell that they are parents, Yura was so good with our baby, very gentle and caring."

Cisca, client testimonial

"Very professional and were patient to get all our newborn photos despite not having a very sleepy baby at the time."

Cisca, client testimonial

"Our newborn baby took a long time to settle and kept crying when we tried to pose her. So the photo shoot took longer than expected. Very happy with the final product too - great quality and value for money."

A few things parents ask before booking.

If your question is not here, tell us your baby's age and what you are hoping to photograph.

When should I enquire about a newborn session?

Enquire once you know your due date so we can discuss availability. If your baby has already arrived, please still get in touch. We regularly photograph babies beyond the earliest newborn stage.

Does my baby need to be under two weeks old?

No. The first two weeks can suit very sleepy portraits, but they are not a deadline. Older newborns are welcome and the photographs are planned around your baby's age and expressions.

What happens if my baby does not sleep?

Awake photographs can be beautiful. We can pause for feeding, changing or settling and continue when your baby is comfortable.

Can parents and siblings be photographed too?

Parent and sibling photographs are available in selected collections. Tell us who will be attending when you enquire.

What should we wear?

Soft neutrals and simple layers keep attention on faces and connection. We will help you coordinate clothing before the session.

Is there an extra charge for weekends?

No. Weekend sessions are available at no extra charge. Please enquire about the dates currently available.
